Yes, after all these years, my third album "Shotgun" will be released on Tuesday, November 22!  Very, very proud of this one -- check it out!

Can you call this a blog when it goes over six years without updates?  Well, if you're kind enough to be reading this, I'll let you in on a secret, which is that my third album is almost finished and will be out by the end of the year, probably in November.

It's fatuous and narcissistic for someone like me to even pretend to be a "musician" long enough to "pay tribute" to someone like Prince, the greatest musician in living memory.  There are certainly enough wonderful and well-written tributes coming thick and fast today (I recommend this one by the great Rob Sheffield) that I don't need to put in my two cents.  But I've never been this shaken by the death of someone I didn't know and never met.  Stunned, didn't see it coming, still trying to absorb it.

It's a bit (or a lot) embarrassing to look at all the blogs and Facebook posts I've made in the past three or four years, saying "new CD coming this year for sure!"  I clearly can't be trusted.  :)  But now that "Stars On The Ceiling", five years in the making, is finally out in the world, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and I'm glad I only put it out when it was really ready.

So thank you all for the incredibly great response -- all I ask is that if you like it, tell your friends.  :)  (And…
